Car Accident Kills 23-Year-Old Florida Man

On Friday, a Sebring man was seriously injured in a car accident after his 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix veered off the road and hit a tree. The 23-year-old man was traveling northbound on SW Welles Avenue in Nocatee when the auto accident occurred around 10:45pm.

The cause of the motor vehicle crash is unknown, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), but the vehicle went onto the northbound grass shoulder rotating clockwise.

The driver was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he died the following day of injuries sustained in the accident. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the FHP is awaiting test results to find out if alcohol or drugs were involved.
