Dade Turnpike Crash Kills 1, Injures 3

In Kendall, a car accident that occurred just after 1:30am Sunday morning claimed the life of a 24-year-old driver and injured three others. The car accident victim reportedly sped up behind a car on Florida’s Turnpike just before her vehicle hit the car in front of her.

Both cars spun out of control and hit the guardrail, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A 21-year-old passenger who was riding with the driver who died at the scene of the accident was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Investigators said she had sustained “non-life-threatening” injuries. Two people in the other car survived with minor injuries.

Authorities say they are awaiting test results to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the Florida car crash.
